Time to think about lightening up more than your waistline in time for Summer.
Take a serious look at the comfort of your wardrobe, I’m not just talking about the fit but the colours and fabric weights, to ensure you make it through the hot summer months without getting hot under the collar.
Dare to do Denim
Get the most out of your made to measure investment and rock the tailored jacket with a jeans look that will be popular again this season.
Wear to maximum effect by ensuring the Jacket is classic in style – 2 or 1 button single breasted with notch or peak lapels is ideal. Add tweed or classic patterned fabric and you are good to go.
Don’t forget the darker the jeans, the more formal the look, so if wearing with lighter jeans darken the jacket for a more boating blazer look. Keep it light weight with Cotton, Linen or clever mixes with wool/linen/silk blends for a cool finish.
Step out in Stripes
It will come as no surprise to fashion followers that Stripes remain a key trend in this season’s look – whether in suits, jackets, trousers or jumpers. We see the return of a classic tailoring favorite, the pinstripe suit while those who favour a more casual look will be looking to the boating blazers covered with colour or monochrome block stripes.
But it can feel like a bit of a minefield, do you go for horizontal stripes, renowned for adding width, or vertical stripes that draw the eyes down, giving the illusion of height? The good news is, with a little help, this trend can easily be adapted to suit individual taste, shape and size.
Try a classic button-down shirt with stripes that are slightly wider or in a striking colour, alternatively go subtle as seen here with a hint of check in the fabric.
Red is back!
Give a punch to both casual and smart looks with a statement piece. Red is definitely the new black but although its seems uncomplicated, not everyone has the confidence to pull off Red.
Under my watchful eye you can take the plunge and be bang on trend this season with a selection of fabrics and hues to suit your individual needs.
